Our Journey: From Heartbreak to Hope

In 2013, Kim Brown began her journey of fostering and volunteering with rescues, quickly falling in love with her first two fosters. However, in 2015, tragedy struck when she lost her younger brother, Matthew, to suicide. His battle with bipolar disorder left a profound impact on her life. In the wake of this loss, Kimmy found solace in helping animals in her community, realizing that they needed her just as much as she needed them. This heartfelt connection led to the creation of Kimmy’s Safe Haven Rescue, a place where every animal is given a second chance at life and love.

A Voice for the Voiceless

Since its inception, Kimmy’s Safe Haven has been a beacon of hope for abused, neglected, abandoned, and feral animals. These precious souls, many of whom have never known the warmth of a loving home, deserve a second chance at life. Inspired by the heartbreaking loss of Matthew, Kim has dedicated herself to sharing their stories and advocating for their needs. With her husband Shane, Kim adopted two children in 2006, filling a void in her heart. After experiencing two miscarriages, her children not only completed her family but also enriched her life in ways she never imagined.

Our Little Helpers

At Kimmy's Safe Haven Rescue, our children are not just family; they are passionate animal lovers who play a vital role in our mission. They help care for our furry friends, ensuring that each animal receives the love and attention they deserve. Currently, we have a diverse group of animals in our care, some who have just arrived and others who have been with us longer due to health challenges or special needs. Each one has a story, often marked by abandonment or hardship, and they all hold a special place in Kimmy's heart. With your support, we can continue to provide these animals with a safe haven and a chance at a better life.
